It is possible to do this quest even if you are KOS to
the Kromrif. What you will need to do is create a level
1 troll worshiping Rallos Zek. You will be using him to
do a good deal of the hand-ins for you.
In The Great Divide, kill a Coldain War Wolf. Coldain
War Wolf drops a "Velium War Wolf Choker."
Bring the choker to a A Frost Giant Wolf Tamer under the
bridge that leads to King Tormax's throne room. Just jump
down the side of bridge. His loc is -1100, 1720. There
is no need to hail him he usually will not reply just
give him the collar. You will need the troll to do this
if you are KoS here.
You give a Frost Giant Tamer Velium War Wolf Choker
After giving the Wolf Tamer the choker he gives you a
wolf harness.
You say "I am looking for more
work".
A frost giant wolf tamer says 'Yes. I was charged with
a certain... delivery. Apparently one of our good friends
named Erdarf in Thurgadin needs a shipment of one karsin
acid bottle. You can find such a thing in Crystal Caverns.
Maybe one of the orc dogs has it. Find a way to get one
of those bottles to our good friend eh? When you do, let
me see whatever it is you find on him.'
A "Bottle of Karsin Acid" is no drop, and is looted off
of random orcs in Crystal Caverns. About 1 out of 15 drops
a bottle. If you are using a troll mule he will need to
loot this bottle so get somone to camo him or buy aa invis
potion and run him to the enterance to crystal caverns
and log him. Then log your main on to kill the rygorr.
Once you get the bottle go back to Thurgadin. Give the
karsin bottle to Erdarf loc -370, 455, and he "gives"
you a gem of persuasion.
Go back to giant wolf tamer, give him gem of persuasion,
he gives you a giant's version of the gem. Give him the
wolf harness and the giant version of the gem, and he
gives you his giant control harness.
Now here is what's going to happen. You are going to do
the turn in to the Shardwurm Brood Mother. When you do
she will head Southeast to the enterance of the caves
there. At that time Korf Brokenhammer and another dwarf
will spawn outside the enterance near loc 6200, -3200.
Don't bother Korf if he is inside the cave he will not
have the wristguard on him until he runs from the Broodmother.
Notice I said Runs. If you attack him before he runs you
will get nothing.
Bring this giant control harness to the Shardwurm Broodmother
in Great Divide. A level 1 troll won't be easy to get
into here you will probably need a escort. Some wurms
in here see invis. But if you have to do it alone it is
possible just buy a blood of wolf potion to camo yourself
and con everything on the way in to make sure it doesn't
see invis. You should log your main in the southeast part
of the zone just outside the cave. Let the troll do the
hand in and log to the main immediately. It takes about
2 minutes for the broodmather to get to Korf.
After giving the Broodmother the giant control harness,
head to the Coldain Mine camp in the south east part of
the zone and see Korf Brokenhammer.
Wait for the Broodmother to come. She suddenly comes running
to the side of the cave and starts attacking, 1 second
later Korf starts running southwards let him get a little
way's away ( not too far, just far enough away from the
broodmather so she won't attack ) from the broodmother
or you'll have trouble. Then root him and kill him. The
Wristguard is on his corpse.
If you root Korf to close to the broodmother he will turn
her into his pet. The broodmother is one tough chick and
this will be a real problem. So make sure they are not
too close when you root Korf.
