Quadding made easy

What is Quad kiting? Quad kiting is using a AoE spell to hit 4 mobs (snared) that are close together. Thus you are killing 4 mobs at one time instead of 1.

Quad kiting is a skill. It is not a easy skill to learn and many never get used to it. The experience can be great but there are only certain places that are suitable for quad kiting.

The following spells are used in quad kiting:

Invoke Lightning Level 5
Lightning Strike Level 34
Lightning Blast Level 49
Fist of Karana Level 58
Your current snare spell Any

The main goal of quad kiting is getting the 4 mobs as close together as possible so your spell woks on all of them. This is not as difficult as it seems. Running mobs in a circle is usually used for this. This will cause them to bunch up and then you can let them have it. It's kind of technical how it works so I'll spare you the details but sufficive to say making the mobs change driection dramatically will cause them to group together.

You can prcatice your quadding skills on green mobs first to get the hang of it. No xp gain from them but you are much less likely to die.

AOE spells are very mana intensive so it is imperatvive that you keep a eye on your mana bar. Plus resists can cause alot of troubles. A couple resists can put you out of mana way to early. A Luminescent Staff can be a real lifesaver when you go out of mana. It has a very long casting time 10 seconds. So a extended range 2 item is essential. a Moonstone Ring is very cheap usually around 100-150 Plat. + Mana equipment make the diffrence as well. The larger your mana pool the more types of mobs you can quad without running out of mana.

Know your mobs. High HP mobs or mobs that have high Magic resistance. Or zones that don't have alot of room can end your quadding day's fast.

One ot the most popular places to quad kite for a druid is Cobalt Scar. The wyverns are good experience and there is plenty of room to move around. Be careful of the drakes they cast a nasty debuff and nuke for 500 hp's a hit and will assist the wyverns.

If you find that you are running out of mana on a kite you can run off a distance and med for a few ticks till the mobs come into range. This is common practice if you have the room to do so.

It is highly reccomended that you keep Wolf form and Gate memmed as well. Wolf form lasts longer than sow and is usually the spell of choice for quadders for this reason. Gate is a lifesaver if you accidentally aggro a wandering mob or you get too many resists. Also have a nuke memmed to finish off any stragglers alot of times you will not kill all 4 mobs at the same time.

Popular mobs used for quad kiting:

Iceclad Snow Cougars
Great Divide Tizmak
Coblat Scar Wyverns
Eastern Wastes Ulthorks
Timorous Deep Spirocs
Eastern Wastes Walruses
Oasis Spectres
Cobalt Scar Otters

Keep in mind these are the most popular and not the only mobs that can be quadded. They are also the most saught after cams for quadders.

Once you get the hang of Quad Kiting it will probably be your favorite way of experiencing. Just hang in there and be safe.
