Being
a better druid in LDoN

Most
of these are just plain common sense but it's not inconceivable
to miss one or two. Us druids have soloed alot so many
are not used to being in a group and they don't really
know what to do. I can remember when I first started to
group I had no idea what spells I needed to mem.
1) Main healer. Keep your cheal memmed and also keep a
low casting time heal memmed in case things go bad and
your cheal doesn't have time to land. Opening your spellbook
will stop a cast timer as will hitting 'D' duck. Good
to know in case your need to stop a 10 second casting
to cast on somone else.
2) If there is a ranger shooting arrows in your group
DO NOT ROOT. you will totally screw up his DPS.
3) If you have a cleric in your group most of the group
will be expecting you to be back up healer. It's most
likely gonna happen 1 time at least in the dungeon. Never
let yourself go below 30% mana just in case you gotta
take over heals for a short while.
4) Patch heal the tank if he's low on hp's b4 the pull.
Once the mob has been pulled and u cheal him right at
the start your gonna get beat on.
5) Never use a dot in a group. People will laugh at you
for casting a 1 minute dot on a mob that doesn't live
for more than 20 seconds and they r right.
6) Crucible of escape is a good buy frees up a spell slot
and can be added to a hotkey. Get one they are not expensive.
7) Check track if you don't have a ranger, people like
to kill named mobs and you can steer the group in the
right direction.
8) If your main healer you should never be looting. Whenever
the group has to stop to let you med up it looks bad on
you. Let somone else be main looter. In cave like dungeons
try to keep a eye on the mob as it drops. I have seen
more than one time a looter couldn't find the mobs cause
it fell inside a hill or a wall.
9) If you don't have a mezzer and your 1/2 way into the
dungeon you can train the dungeon mobs and root them as
you run. You can easily seperate a group of 4 mobs this
way if you have the room. Not time efficent but it will
work in a pinch. Have the group stay in a offshoot room
or at the zoneline.
10) Cast your DS. Many peeps prolly won't notice this
but when the MT is killing a mob every minute your DS
is doing alot of dmg.
11) Set up a heal macro but make sure you don't fizzle
on it.
/g casting 75% heal on %t stay in range or die!!
/cast 8
This is what I use, let's em know who I am gonna heal,
and also let's any back up healers know so they don't
stack heals.
12) If you get a add and your not main healer. Nuke the
add and run. Root it back away from the group. Not neccissary
if you got a chanter.
13) If you are nuking keep in mind the group dynamic,
if you got 2 tanks and the mob is at 90% usually both
of them have around 5% aggro. If you toss in a nuke then
your gonna get aggro. If you have 1 tank and the mob is
at 90% then he usually has 9-10% aggro and it's ok to
nuke at 90%. If you stealing aggro on first nuke this
is prolly why.
14) Keep a pack regen up if you have a canni class in
your group. It helps them alot on their mana regen.
15) If there is no ranger in your group and you have a
slower and a clicky root, You can root the mob as soon
as it get's back to the group so the slower can slow without
getting the aggro. This is kind of a case by case situation
on mobs that are hitting hard. It'll save you a good bit
of mana on heals in the long run if you get the hang of
it.
16) When in doubt Evac. It doesn't take but a second to
get back to where you were but it takes alot of time to
do a corpse run.
17) Forage. Not really a group skill but there are alot
of really good items that can be foraged in LDON that
sell for really good money.. gargoyle granite, geode,
and polished quartz are all good sellers.
18 ) You should have your stun spell memmed. There are
several chealing mobs in LDON 'caretakers for example'
you have a line of stun spells that can interrupt their
cheals and make it much easier on your group. My current
one is storm's fury. You start seeing that healling stuff
comming out of their hands hit em with it. It has a slow
refresh timer but it's a very useful tool. Nothing more
annoying than a mob chealing itself.
19) Bind at the enterance. A death isn't so bad if your
bound at the ent. This will save alot of run time and
I have actually soloed a few mobs in LDON while the rest
of the group was on the way back.
20) Never rely on the F8 command to target the nearest
mob. I have seen people train the group using this, it
is unreliable and can also target boxes and bitten victims.
Some may disagree with several of these and some will
agree. We all have our own way's of playing our characters
which makes us unique. This is a good start for anyone
just beginning. |
